Prysmian to further strengthen presence in the Middle East and showcase extended product portfolio at SAOGE 2014 in Damman (Saudi Arabia).

The Group's display will feature its comprehensive range of cable solutions.

Prysmian Group will showcase its comprehensive product portfolio at the 2014 edition of the SAOGE – Saudi Arabia International Oil & Gas Exhibition – that will take place in Dammam (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) from November 24th to 26th, (booth 720).

Prysmian Group’s product portfolio on display at the exhibition will focus on a wide range of cable solutions for the Oil & Gas industry, which incorporates complex and integrated power, control and instrumentation systems for chemical, petrochemical, power or industrial plants. The Group’s product range includes innovative solutions such as Bostrig™ Type P, Drylam™ and Airguard™ Cable System, designed for critical environments, with enhanced resistance to hydrocarbons and moisture aggression, reduced diameters and lower environmental impact vs. lead-sheathed cables and with increased mechanical protection, lighter weight, improved flexibility and shorter installation times compared to traditional armoured cables.

To complete the available portfolio, solutions for offshore applications – which incorporate a comprehensive portfolio of SURF products (Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines), the Group can offer also both Steel and Thermoplastic Umbilicals as well as flexible pipes for offshore oil and gas extraction. Thanks to the merger between Prysmian and Draka in 2010, in fact, the Group is the leading player in the cable industry with 16 plants dedicated specifically to cables for the OGP sector. Besides the facilities in Australia, Europe, Malaysia and South America, the Group can now rely on two plants in North America, thus broadening the available range of products technology to special Down Hole Tubing (DHT) systems (manufactured in Massachusetts and New Jersey) and creating interesting cross-selling opportunitieùs to accelerate the business’s expansion in new strategic areas such as ASEAN, Northern Europe and Western Africa in order to support the leading key players in the global OGP industry such as ENI, SAIPEM, BP, Foster Wheeler, Shell, Petrobras, Petrofac, etc.

SAOGE 2014 comes at a very important time for the Prysmian Group to reinforce its strong presence in the Middle East – a key area for the Company’s expansion strategy – where the Group can rely on  a number of projects completed or currently ongoing including the Barzan oil field submarine power interconnection in Qatar, the first-ever submarine power transmission link serving Doha, the GCC Saudi-Bahrain submarine interconnection and the 400 kV power transmission system for TRANSCO connecting the Bahia and Saadiyat Grid Stations in Abu Dhabi. Moreover, a contract for the interconnection of the Zakum offshore oil field in Abu Dhabi which the Group has been awarded last April, provides further confirmation of the Prysmian’s leadership role in this strategic region.
