Prysmian Group has supplied around 500 km of cables for Tele2 Arena, a new, ultra-modern multi-purpose stadium in Stockholm. The customer is Goodtech, one of Northern Europe’s largest providers of electrical installations.

The Tele2 Arena will open in July 2013 after three years of work: football matches and concerts are just some of the events that will be held here. The retractable roof makes it a year-round venue, taking only 20 minutes to create indoor conditions using the sliding roof. The arena will have a capacity of 30,000 spectators at football matches and 40,000 for concerts. The stadium will also house commercial office space. The glass facade will allow visitors to enjoy stunning views over Stockholm.

Tomas Hagwall, Business Development Manager for Prysmian Group Sweden, says: “It’s not a big project but a prestigious one. We are proud to be supplying cables to the new Stockholm Arena. Lots of great football matches will be played here by top Swedish teams.”

Prysmian Group has supplied halogen-free cables for the stadium’s power, telecommunication and lighting systems, selected by the customer as the latest technology to guarantee safety and environmental standards.
