Dear reader,

We are delighted to present the first 2019 edition of NEXST magazine, Prysmian’s publication on the worlds of broadband and telecom! Once again, we will be looking a wide range of trends and topics.

Marking the FTTH Council Conference in Amsterdam we have exclusive interviews with FTTH Council President Ronan Kelly and Director General Erzsébet Fitori, discussing everything from 5G and key fibre-related developments to misleading advertising.

In Prysmian news, we look at the record-breaking 6,912-fibre FlexRibbon™ cable. This issue also features tech stories on the very first 5G smartphone processor, and a recent 5G trial in Japan in which a speed of 27Gb/s was achieved

We looked at Asia’s leading position in Broadband, connected TVs in the US, Amazon’s DC actitivites in Africa, Microsoft’s projects for closing the ‘rural divide’ in the US, and how Brazilian telecommunications firm Oi is leveraging fibre for FTTH, mobile and 5G.
