According to the most recent edition of the IDATE World FTTx database, FTTH/B has consolidated its position as the leader amongst superfast broadband solutions. 585.9 million FTTx subscribers were identified worldwide in June 2017. This number is forecast to reach 897.8 million by 2021.This implies that FTTH/B has taken a clear lead over FTTx/D3.0 and VDSL.

The IDATE DigiWorld World FTTx database provides key data on this market across the globe, covering more than 70 countries and more than 150 key players, and providing forecasts up to 2021.

Global FTTH Operators ranking

The top ten features five companies from Asia, two from the USA and one each from Russia and Western Europe. China’s three telcos - China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom - currently top the FTTH/B rankings.
