Feasibility has been demonstrated through prototypes and trials. Video, audio and data created during production are given a unique identifier and timestamp distributed over the network and assembled as required.

The BBC has also started online trials of Ultra HD HDR content. UK residents with specific types of connected TV can watch a stream of footage from the Planet Earth II series using the iPlayer media service.
