26 Enabling the Digital and Energy transition Jim Crane is Director of Innovation at Exelon Utilities, which serves 10 million people in the US through electric and gas utilities in six cities: Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Wilmington (DE) and Atlantic City (NJ). Exelon has recently partnered with Prysmian Group to pilot a test robot-applied heat-dissipating E3X coating on existing power lines. The new technology will increase the capacity for utilities for their in-service overhead power lines and to enable more power, including from sustainable sources, to be delivered across existing transmission grids.
