They could create 2.8 million new jobs – nearly one quarter of the job losses so far due to Covid-19. “The purpose of this analysis is to demonstrate the availability of a substantial pipeline of projects acrossEurope that have thepotential to support jobs and to contribute to the EU’s climate objectives,” an EY study explains. EU COUNTRIES ALREADY HAVE 1,000 SHOVEL-READYGREEN PROJECTS , STUDY SAYS As the European governments gradually unveil their investment plans for the EU’s planned €750 billion Covid-19 recovery package, some €200 billion worth of “shovel ready” green projects are already on the drawing board ready to go, according to a recent study by consultancy group EY developed for ECF (European Climate Foundation).
