FTTH technology update to be presented at conference

Prysmian Cables & Systems will be playing a major role at next week's 6th Annual Conference of the FTTH Council Europe which is being held in Copenhagen on February 11th and 12th. More than 2000 people attended last year's event in Paris and this year's conference is again expected to attract large numbers of visitors from all over Europe and around the world. This is now a key event in the European telecoms calendar providing a comprehensive overview of FTTH in terms of technological, regulatory and environmental issues.

Prysmian, as a main sponsor of the conference will be exhibiting the latest additions to its growing FTTH system portfolio including CasaLight™ Xtreme, its ultra bend-insensitive G 657 optical fibre, together with a variety of innovative access cable solutions for both single and multi dwelling units - all supported by a team of Prysmian's FTTH product specialists. Additionally Prysmian will contribute to the conference proceedings with a detailed comparison of some of today's cable technologies designed for use in the MDU environment.

FTTH Council Europe continues to play a leading role in promoting the uptake of optical technology in the access networks of Europe commented Giovanni B. Scotti, director of Prysmian's global telecom cable and fibre optic business. We are delighted to provide our ongoing support to their efforts in championing this technology and believe that 2009 will continue to see further progress being made in FTTH deployment in Europe.
