We analyse the environmental impact of  existing products and consider the CFP contribution due to  materials and processes used.

We have also developed an offline method to optimize cable design to adhere to environmental parameters.

This feature allows the product designer to evaluate various alternatives to the materials normally used and assess the impact that these different versions might have on the  cable CFP and  its potential recyclability.

Our team of technicians for research and development apply the principles of sustainability at all levels of a project, from the design of cables to their production, from technical assistance to the establishment of innovative solutions.

Our engineers use advanced tools to validate the performance of our cables by simulating their behaviour in various applications before even proceeding to the prototyping phase.

This process helps to maximize the effectiveness of the work executed in our labs, avoiding unnecessary repetitions in the production line and therefore also achieving a reduction in the consumption of material and energy.

 

We are creating  an Innovation Ecosystem that is capable of generating a constant flow of innovation through a network of clients, suppliers, and the world’s top universities.

Our R&D efforts are focused on creating more sustainable products that help their end users to minimize the environmental impacts associated to their operations, products or services. At the same time,  we worked internally to set targets to improve our energy efficiency, to reduce energy consumption and waste production from our manufacturing process, and to keep monitoring Prysmian’s environmental footprint.
