Prysmian Group participated to the LATAM 2018 Conference organized by the LATAM Chapter, the representation of the Fiber Broadband Association in the Latin America region.

Each year, the Latin American Fiber Broadband association hosts a conference in which the most important regional companies get together with the goal to homologate and standardize fibre optics. All the members of the association — manufacturers, marketing teams, engineering firms, operators and service providers — apply fibre optics for the transmission of communication signals. This year’s conference took place at the Hilton Mexico City Reforma Hotel, Mexico City.

Prysmian Group was present with a stand where the participants could appreciate the different technological solutions that the Company can offer to suit diverse network communication applications, from data centers to local home connections.

The main Prysmian products on display included optical fibre cables, manufactured at the new Durango Telecom plant, and several connectivity solutions for telecoms infrastructures designed for indoor installation in buildings and houses (Verticasa and Retractanet).

Luis Sánchez, Commercial Telecommunications Manager of Prysmian Group for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, said:

The solutions that Prysmian offers to the telecommunications market satisfy the high quality and performance required by our clients. This allows to constantly guarantee the connectivity and functionality of high-capacity optical networks, reducing costs and maximizing their benefits.

At the event, Héctor Guadarrama, technical specialist of Prysmian Group, took part in a panel of industry experts called “Fiber Optics Innovations”, which discussed interesting topics ranging from the need for developing a new 5G data transmission infrastructure and finding solutions for fibre optic network densification in urban areas to the use of smart devices and new technologies to facilitate people’s daily tasks.

Héctor Guadarrama stated:

It is important that both users and providers of telecommunications services are conscious of all the benefits arising from having fast data networks, as denser and better performing connections contribute to the improvement of life quality.

Finally, Jaouad Ben-Hamman, Prysmian Group CCO for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, commented:

Through its participation in events like the Fiber Broadband LATAM Chapter’s LATAM 2018 conference, Prysmian Group reaffirms its leading position in the region where it offers telecoms cutting-hedge and advanced technology solutions. Prysmian is constantly innovating to offer products able to meet the needs of our customers, thereby contributing to build a better future.
