Prysmian Group will be again a Gold Sponsor at this year’s FTTH Council MENA Conference, to be held at the Regency Tunis Hotel in Tunis on November 21-23.

This year’s event, under the theme "FTTH, Empowering the Digital Vision", will feature high-level discussions on several issues, such as the latest strategies for FTTH deployment, the new trends in financing FTTH and the future-proof solutions based on fibre optics.

The three-day FTTH Council MENA Conference and Exhibition will include a day of workshops and two days of conference sessions.

Prysmian’s stand will feature the Group’s latest products for the telecom business, with specific focus on the MENA market, and a Prysmian manager, Laurent Gasca, Product and Standardization Manager Telecom Solutions, will hold a speech at one of the sessions of the Conference. In his speech “What can we learn from the deployment of FTTH networks in the ‘old’ Europe?”, he will explain how the deployment of FTTH networks in some European countries is booming, turning from an experimental mode to a real industrial mode.

“In the last miles, these industrial deployments are supported by ‘new’ technologies as bend insensitive fibre, micromodule cables or preconnectorized solutions,” explained Laurent. “There are some analogies between the cities in Europe and in the MENA regions. In both regions, most of the cities are ancient ones, with a long building history. In my presentation, I will explain how these new technologies can also help the deployment of FTTH networks in the MENA countries.”

Prysmian Group’s stand will showcase products and solutions aimed at “MEETING TOMORROW’S DEMANDS TODAY”.

“We have unrivalled skills, because innovation and customer-centricity are components of our DNA. We work to design and deliver high-quality systems and products for quality networks, as cutting-edge technology, next-generation products with attention to sustainability, flexible and modular applications, respecting and guaranteeing all major world-class standards”

added Stephane Albou, Connectivity Sales Manager, Telecom Solutions.

Prysmian has been working in close collaboration with companies in Tunisia since the end of the 20th century. In the country, Prysmian has traditionally supplied world-leading high-voltage and automotive cables and, since 2013, has had a 100% stake in Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) optical fibre connectors. Today, the new Menzel Bouzelfa facility, inaugurated in 2015 and boasting over 400 workers, helps to develop this technology for both the developing Tunisian market and Southern Europe. Customers include Orange, Telefonica and Telecom Italia to name but a few, and quality standards are extremely high.
