The European Broadband Competence Office (BCO) Network Training Session took place in Vienna on October 30 reuniting the most influential European wire and cable producers, as part of Europacable Association, in order to discuss about the future European Gigabit Society.

Prysmian Group took part to the debate together with over 30 other representatives of national and regional authorities, committed to support the deployment of a stable digital infrastructure across Europe.

Mr. Antoni Bosch, VP Telecom Solutions at Prysmian Group, affirmed: “Europe is lagging behind in fiber roll-out. The Continent needs investments in fiber deep networks which are vital for our economy and society to be competitive in the digital 21st century. This is why cooperation is paramount. The industry is ready to work together with national and local authorities and institutions to ensure a timely fiber roll-out. This said, only high-quality cables will contribute to making Europe’s Gigabit Society a reality. Thus, let’s do it right, together!

National and regional authorities have been given the chance to assist to the production of high quality fibres and optical fibre cables, participating to a series of guided tours of Europacable Member facilities, organized by Europacable and the BCO Network.
