A series of internal and external events across the country.

Prysmian Group Turkey is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The Mudanya cable factory was first opened in 1964 under the ownership of Siemens. It was later acquired by Pirelli S.p.A. in 1999 and renamed Prysmian after the spin-off on 28 July 2005.

The anniversary has been celebrated with a series of initiatives throughout 2014, including the first ever open day for employees and their families, customer events, special POS material distributed across the country, special commemorative gifts for all top customers and opinion leaders and a number of important  written and video interviews with Hans Hoegstedt, Prysmian Group Turkey’s CEO.

In addition, a forceful promotional campaign has been conducted across Turkey, involving visits by the Regional Sales managersto the country’s A-Team Dealers and Subdealers, and the organisation of a number of Branding Sales Points complete with posters.

The main internal event was the “Factory Open Day”, held at the Mudanya plant on 7 September. More than 2,400 people attended, including employees and their families as well as Hans Hoegstedt, Prysmian Group Turkey’s CEO, and Halil Kongur, Prysmian Group Turkey Factory Director.

Having completed 50 years in the country thanks to the industry of its employees who ensure its continued success, Prysmian Group Turkey once again demonstrated that it is one big family. The “50th Anniversary Celebrations”, organised with a carnival theme, were greatly enjoyed by the guests. Participants were greeted by a band, with clowns and jugglers contributing to the festive atmosphere; both the children and their families had a wonderful time in the event grounds, where barbecued food, candy floss, Maraş ice cream and sweets were served throughout the day.

The large and extended family of Prysmian Group Turkey also remembered their senior members, who assisted CEO Hans Hoegstedt and Factory Director Halil Kongur in cutting the 50th anniversary cake.

Given its forward-looking spirit and mission of “Linking Turkey to the future”, Prysmian Group Turkey also announced its education scholarships for employees’ children. Prysmian Group Turkey will continue to invest in Turkey’s future through such projects just as it has done for the last 50 years.

CEO Hans Hoegstedt said “We are very proud to be celebrating our 50th year in Turkey and in Mudanya with our loyal workforce who have helped bring us to where we are today. It is especially exciting to celebrate this anniversary from our current position of strength, knowing that we offer the best quality and the very best and most efficient cable solutions in Turkey and in over 40 other countries around the world. Our mission is to continue to link Turkey to the future and to partner with Turkey to build an even better future together. I have every confidence that we will continue to take great steps forward in the future too.”
