Prysmian and Pedote at the legendary Route du Rhum

After the successes in the Mini Class, a new challenge

After a season of successes in the Mini Class, Giancarlo Pedote, the skipper sponsored by Prysmian Group, is taking part in the legendary Route du Rhum, the most important transatlantic single-handed yacht race. This race takes place every four years over a non-stop course from Saint Malo in Brittany to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadaloupe.

The 10th edition of this famous race will start on Sunday 2 November. Competitors will sail over 3,500 miles on the old route used by the rum trade. Giancarlo Pedote will be taking part with the “Fantastica”, a new Class40 boat owned by Lanfranco Cirillo, known for his past support for young sailors.

The Class40 is a crowded category, with more than 35 participants. This is the first time Giancarlo Pedote is competing in this race. Prysmian Group, already his main sponsor for the Mini 6.50 Prysmian ITA 747, will also sponsor the skipper in this event. We want to be once again at Giancarlo’s side in this new challenge because we support his determination to carry out a major project in such a short time.
