After a 15-day delay, caused by adverse weather conditions, this morning the Mini Transat, the most important race for the Mini Class, finally got off to a start.

Giancarlo Pedote, on his proto Prysmian 747, crossed the starting line at 9:19 together with the other competitors, heading out of the Bay of Douarnenez towards Arracife (Lanzarote).
The 84 –strong fleet will stop in Arracife, leaving for Guadalupe presumably between 9 and 11 November.

Denis Hugues, the race director, is closely monitoring the situation: strong winds are expected, especially during Friday night. These weather conditions may not stop the race from going ahead, like in the past 15 days, but nonetheless continue to be monitored.
The race director also announced that if the situation becomes dangerous, he may decide to end the first leg of the race early in Sada, in La Coruna (Spain).

The race can be followed on the official website http://www.minitransat.fr/, where, in addition to the news, you can find a map that is updated 4 times a day, every 4 hours from 08:00 to 20:00.
