In the Asia Pacific region Prysmian has been recently awarded two major pilot projects in the telecommunications sector.

In Indonesia nearly 300 km of high fibre count cable, manufactured at Prysmian’s Indonesian factory, will be installed in Jakarta, with further implementation scheduled for the Surabaya and Medan areas.

Prysmian will also provide almost 10.000 km of optical aerial cable for a major telecommunications corporation in Vietnam. The $8.6m deal for almost 10.000 km of optical aerial cable is to be rolled out across north, central and south Vietnam during 2009.

Eugene Tay, Commercial Director Telecom – ASEAN, commented: “ The introduction of innovative systems and solutions throughout Asia is critical to the region’s infrastructure growth needs. Prysmian is committed to the continued provision of effective networks for clients across the Asia pacific region, and in turn, the maintenance of product innovation and development in line with growing demand.”
