Prysmian at Breko 2017

21/04/2017 - 02:00 AM

Prysmian Group will showcase its latest innovations for broadband rollout in Germany at BREKO, on April 25 and 26 in Frankfurt am Main. As the owner of the only European technology for the production of optical fibre, the company will also be actively engaged in the discussion on a nationwide rollout of broadband networks in Germany by 2025.

At the invitation of the company, key influencers from the worlds of business, politics and science will come together on April 26, 2017 for a panel discussion aimed at providing an indicative outlook towards the digital transformation ahead of Germany – on the path to the 2025 gigabit society. Philippe Vanhille, Senior Vice President Telecom Business at the Prysmian Group, will be joined by representatives of the Federal Broadband Bureau, the Fraunhofer Institutes, the Deutsche Glasfaser Holding company and others.

At the event, Andreas Waßmuth, Director R&D Telecom at Prysmian Group, will give a presentation on "Densification - Requirements for fibres and cables with respect to higher packing densities".

"Reliable and fast network connections will increasingly become a factor in successful economic growth in Europe over the coming years. With our technologies, we can meet the constantly evolving requirements of the telecom industry and facilitate fast and cost-effective broadband rollout", said Philippe Vanhille.

As a driver of innovation, Prysmian is leading the way in the development of ultra-compact optical fibre solutions. In addition to mini and micro cable enhancements, the company will also highlight fibre density, modular design and connection technology benefits offered by its FlexTube® technology at BREKO. With 2112 fibres, FlexTube® is the highest fibre count, for a flexible micromodule-based cable, to be installed to date. It is designed to be extremely compact, light-weight and flexible and also much faster to install, enabling service providers to easily deploy record number of fibres in difficult or congested areas.

"As the market leader in the energy and telecom cables industry, we are constantly evolving to ensure we meet the demand for products with higher capacity. While designing advanced cable innovations, we also seek to offer complete network solutions, including connection technology", said Vanhille. "We are working on developing new, more advanced FTTH technology of the highest quality aimed at reducing the splicing time required. In this way, we are contributing to fast and cost-effective broadband rollout in Germany."

Prysmian Group will exhibit at booth 84 at the BREKO Optical Fibre Trade Fair taking place from April 25 to 26, 2017 in Frankfurt am Main.
