Prysmian establishes new Chilean affiliate

PRYSMIAN

After having sold to the Chilean market for many years, Prysmian has decided to open a local legal entity to expand its reach in the country. Initially, Prysmian Chile will operate through a local warehouse, making Prysmian Group’s entire product range available to the local market.

Chile is one of the most promising markets in South America, which is experiencing growth in both the Energy and Telecom sectors. “This new milestone brings Prysmian South America much closer to the Chilean customers, ensuring availability, through Prysmian Chile, of the entire product range of Prysmian Group,” stated German Aparicio, General Manager, Prysmian Chile.

Strengthen relationships

Marcello Del Brenna, CEO of Prysmian Group South America, also stated: “Prysmian Chile will allow the group to reinforce its position in the South American market. The first priority of Prysmian Chile is to stay close to the Chilean customers, strengthen relationships at local and regional level, make available high quality products and services and be ready to seize any growth opportunity which may emerge in this buoyant country.”

Prysmian Group also operates ten plants in North America serving the telecom and energy markets and two fibre-optic manufacturing facilities in the United States covering 1.5 million square feet, including the only co-located fibre and cable facility in North America. In addition, the group has a manufacturing facility in Prescott, Ontario to meet Canada’s power cabling needs.
